The Necessary Art of Noticing is composed of an intricate array of hand-foraged flora layered between abstractly nuanced painted surfaces, alongside arrangements of still-life dried flora presenting themselves in suspended animation. This collection emerged during the global solidarity lockdown of Winter 2021, showcasing Anna’s acute observation of nature’s resilience and transformation during challenging times.

Plants serve as a powerful metaphor, exemplifying preparation and adaptation through extraordinary acts of metamorphosis. The serenity emanating from this collection provides viewers with a much-needed respite—a visual pause to contemplate and reflect on the intricate cycles of Mother Earth’s existence. It symbolizes a profound hope that our human society can embrace a slower pace and embark on the journey of regeneration.
